Time is a flying!

The following is a photo posted on a local web site recently.  A lovely aerial photograph of the waterfront here in Lo de Marcos.

We had family arrive the week before Christmas.  We spent a morning touring the Malecon in Puerto Vallarta with them and stopped for lunch at the Cheeky Monkey.

The week between Christmas and New Year's was very busy here at the park.  Lots of people coming to the coast for the holiday period.  New Year's Eve our campground had all the regular 10 spots full, plus 26 tents in the middle of the campground housing a group of university students from Mexico City who had arrived in a chartered bus, plus a small caravan of 3 Westphalias dry camped in front of our motorhome as they could find no other place to stay in town!

Our New Years Eve was spent under the palapa with the campground owner and family. They hosted a lovely pork pozole, a local pork and hominy soup. And lots of tequila, music and dancing and chatting. We surprised ourselves again this year by staying up past midnight...while our children were fast asleep by then.

January 25th we drove about an hour north to the Jamurrca  Aguas Termales (Hot Springs) near Las Varras.  The drive in from Hwy 200 was a 4 km cobblestone road allowing access by car. The facility is open from 8 am to 5 pm each day.  There are 3 pools there of different temperatures.  It is necessary to take your own food and beverages as there is no restaurant there. Numerous picnic tables and chairs under small palapas are available where you can park your belongings and use to enjoy your lunch. The washrooms and change rooms were clean and well maintained.
We arrived about 11AM and headed for the pools. Then we took a break for lunch and drinks before another round of soaking. The small hot tub was just about too hot to immerse into and the large pool was very soothing. We were home by 4 PM with all our muscles feeling like jelly.
