Mission TX

On Sunday November 11th we arrived at Lemon Tree RV Inn in Mission TX with plans to stay here about 3 weeks before crossing into Mexico.

It's great to be back!  Everyone is welcoming.

The orange trees throughout the campground are loaded with fruit.  It's been great to be able to pick sweet oranges to make our own orange juice.  Plus fresh pineapples were on sale at the local Walmart for 75 cents!  Bargain and so tasty when picked almost ripe!

We stocked up on fresh Gulf brown shrimp at the local H.E.B. for $5/lb.

We always enjoy our American Thanksgiving celebration at the park here. 8 turkeys were supplied by the owner of the park while the residents contribute veggies and desserts.

Lots of social activities such as Margarita Mondays, Pancake Thursdays, Burger dinner on Sundays. Shuffleboard, canasta, etc.

The weather has been up and down like a yoyo.  One day 29C and next 19C.  But better than at home! Many cool nights where we've run our furnace on this trip so using more propane than usual and less air conditioning!

So far we've traveled 2,110 miles. Costs in CAD to get here:

$1,026.00  for gas
$     26.56 for tolls
$   698.37 camping fees (including 1 month rent at Lemon Tree)
$     88.79 propane

$1,928.51 total

We'll know our electric bill when we check out of Lemon Tree.
